We are seeking a technically strong and qualified Accountant to lead core accounting, audit, VAT, and UAE Corporate Tax activities within a professional services environment. The role will take ownership of month-end reporting under an accrual accounting basis, ensure regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and drive continuous improvement in financial processes.
This position will play a key role in leading external audits, managing tax filings, and providing technical accounting guidance to the wider finance team and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end close processes, including preparation of accruals, prepayments, journal entries, and management recharges
• Maintain and review balance sheet reconciliations with full supporting schedules
• Manage fixed assets register, deposits, staff loans, and personal accounts
• Prepare accurate monthly and ad-hoc management reports
• Lead the annual audit process across UAE and KSA entities, acting as the primary point of contact with external auditors
• Coordinate ICV certification audits and tax filings
• Ensure all finance activities comply with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and control frameworks across AP, treasury, petty cash, and related areas
• Prepare, review, and submit monthly/quarterly VAT, WHT, and other statutory filings in line with regulatory requirements
• Lead UAE Corporate Tax filings, ensuring full compliance with local legislation and deadlines
• Maintain strong oversight of tax documentation and audit trails
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and reduce manual intervention
• Recommend enhancements to policies, procedures, and controls to strengthen financial governance and performance
• Review weekly and ad-hoc payments prior to management authorisation
• Oversee payroll preparation and timely submission
• Support additional projects and initiatives as required by management
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar senior accounting role, ideally within a professional services or consultancy environment
• Qualified CA, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA (essential)
• Strong technical knowledge of accrual accounting principles, IFRS/IAS standards, and financial controls
• Proven experience leading external audits and managing auditor relationships
• Hands-on experience with VAT filings and UAE Corporate Tax compliance (essential)
• Strong understanding of regional tax and regulatory requirements (UAE/KSA preferred)
• Advanced Excel/spreadsheet skills and strong financial systems proficiency
• Highly analytical with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously, manage tight deadlines, and juggle competing priorities
